The City of Upper Arlington is seeking a vendor toinstall a complete dump body on a 2023 Ford F450 Super Duty 4x4 with 7.3 liter V-8 engine 10 speed automatic chassis; with a cab to axle length of 84”. This vehicle will be supplied to the body builder by the City of Upper Arlington – Fleet Section. Bid must include the cost for all materials and labor for one (1) complete installation of the dump body, toolbox, power inverter, safety lighting, hydraulic system to operate a tailgate salt spreader and the listed specifications to provide complete usable truck.

Question
The bid spec says it wants electric over hydraulic power unit in dump specs and in spreader specs but then says it wants a central system... Which do we bid? It would not make sense to put a central system on the bid if everything is electric.
Answer

The specification is correct, it is designed to keep hydraulic lines out of the cab of the truck. This system will require an electronic control panel in the cab to activate the hydraulic solenoids.
