Question
Will the university consider a Ford E-series 12 passenger shuttle bus equipped with all of the same required items specified? The Ford E-Series are more readily available and can be converted to add the 4x4 All Wheel Drive option in a shorter amount of time than ordering directly from OEM suppliers.
Answer Yes, we will consider all vehicle brands and consider purchasing one that can be converted.

Question
Does the University have a time frame for receiving a 12 passenger van as specified? Producing a 12 passenger van with 4x4 / All-Wheel drive requires ordering a Ford Transit van directly from Ford Motor Company with their OEM All-Wheel Drive option installed. The All Wheel Drive option must be a factory OEM installed item as there are no conversions currently available in the marketplace to add an aftermarket All Wheel Drive system to an existing van be it Ford Transit or Dodge Promaster. In order to produce a All Wheel drive 12 passenger van, we have to order and wait for Ford to produce which is estimated to take anywhere from 6 months to 1.5 years with no guarantees by Ford Motor Company that they will produce the van ordered.
Answer We would be willing to review all possible options. We understand that a conversion would take some time. Please include an estimated time frame along with your RFP response and pricing of vehicle and conversion price.

Question
As a vendor we submitted a proposed vehicle for this same Outdoor Pursuits van on Bid Number 0420231944. Is this new procurement an extension of that bid as no vehicles submitted on the bid number 0420231944 were accepted? We are trying to understand if our previously proposed vehicle did not meet requirements or was not in the interest of the University so that we are able to properly respond to this procurement. Please advise.
Answer Thanks for your question. We initially awarded the initial RFP, but did not continue award process as we decided we are in need of 4x4/all wheel drive. Please resubmit your initial response if you are able to provide this option on a van. Thanks. We appreciate your help and participation in the RFP process.
