Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:

A new ENT Doctor is starting, and the additional scopes are needed to expand veteran care. The proposed action is for the items listed below:

Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Brand Name
Then new scopes have to be compatible with the Pentax Image Processors currently in use at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Only Pentax scopes will work with Pentax Processors. OEM is a Large Business and has 1 distributor (Thundercat Technology, LLC (SDVOSB) for this product.

Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Searched VetCert using NAICS code 339112 and located 659 vendors. Searched GSA and the requested items were not available. Searched DSBS (quick market research) and there were no vendors listed. Pentax (OEM, LB) advised they have 1 distributor (Thundercat Technology LLC, SDVOB). Neither the VA Rule of Two, nor the SBA Rule of Two can be met. This action will be posted to Contract Opportunities as an Brand Name, unrestricted solicitation.
