Description

The USAF is in the process of upgrading the MQ-9A system to implement an open architecture. The implementation will consist of an Open Mission Systems (OMS) compliant Mission Package that will enable more rapid integration, testing and fielding of capabilities provided by OMS subsystems and/or services. The USAF presently has plans to transition part of its fleet to OMS Tier 1, Standard 1.5. The USAF is interested in determining if there is a business case to upgrade to OMS Tier 2 and/or OMS standard 2.2. This RFI seeks information on unique and innovative products that can deliver relevant capability efficiently, timely and at a reduced life-cycle cost through implementation via the MQ-9A’s OMS Mission Package. The objective is to identify and deliver capability that support the ISR/Strike mission(s) across the wide range of military operations. Specifically, the RFI will help determine those OMS-capable subsystems or services either currently available or in development by industry that may be candidates for integration onto the MQ-9A.
