The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to solicit bids in order to establish a contract with a qualified,

responsible contractor in laundry equipment, management and services for student resident hall facilities on the

main campus at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.



There are currently 25 resident halls that contain laundry facilities to service 7,500 students. There are 223

washers and 263 dryers throughout these facilities. Included in the attachments of this RFP is a chart identifying

the buildings where the laundry equipment is located and the number of washers and dryers.



Ohio University desires to provide a positive laundry experience to the on-campus student body population. It is the

University’s desire to upgrade all equipment to meet Energy Star efficiencies and provide a positive experience

through renovations of existing locations. The successful Contractor will be responsible for providing a positive

experience by offering a functional, clean and attractive laundry environment while supporting programs to promote

usage and educate students on a valuable life skill.



The University must begin the transition during the summer of 2023, after Spring Commencement with full campus

implementation by August 1, 2023.

Will there be a walk-through of the campus and the laundry rooms?
Answer
Yes, we can schedule some walk-throughs; NOTICE: RFP will be rescheduled to consider walk-through dates. Walk throughs shall be the 19th and 20th of January; each at 9:30am. Neither are mandatory or required to submit a bid. For visual purposes only. Please email ricchiuti@ohio.edu to be included in one of these sessions; meeting instructions will be provided in advance.


New RFP due date shall be the 25th.
