Description

The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 423450 with a small business size standard of 200. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with P.X. Inc. 2637 E. Atlantic Blvd. Suite 175 Pompano Beach, FL 33062.

VAMC Cleveland is requesting the procurement of AlphaModalities turning and repositioning slings to maintain par levels of supplies already in use on SCI patient care units. Slings shall have safety features to include recoiling side loops to minimize staff, patient and visitor tripping, and corner loops which prevent the sling from sliding down when the head of the bed is elevated to prevent hitting pressure points and potential wounds. Standardization of equipment type, and brand is important for staff education and patient care, as well as compliance with medical center safe patient handling policy.

Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Monday, March 27, 2023, at 2PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
